If we focus on threat and negativity - our minds fester with darkness. It means that we have control and can shape our encounters in the world. It can be both liberating and frightening to know that our minds grow where our attention settles. She skillfully uses the natural setting to enhance the work and support clients to understand themselves and their experiences better and develop healthy ways to cope and live. Dr Abi delivers therapy for clients and supervision for clinicians, outdoors in the North York Moors (Cod Beck Reservoir, Osmotherley) or indoors from her rustic woodland lodge (Yarm, Teesside). She set up in independent practice this Autumn as The Outdoor Psychologist. Now she is pushing the boundaries of her therapeutic approach to offer people a more creative and holistic approach to address their wellbeing needs. She has over 15 years experience working in the NHS supporting adults of all ages to live well and meaningful lives despite the mental health, physical health and cognitive difficulties they may be struggling with.
